I'm Dreaming of a White Easter?

News anchor Jessica Savitch once said that "news events are like Texas weather. If you don't like it, wait a minute."

Well, that pretty much proved true today. Just yesterday, on a gorgeous Friday morning, we put the kids in a middle of a field of bluebonnets to take their picture. Today, they were subject to Daddy's camera once again, but this time in a backyard dusted with snow.

Bluebonnets

This being springtime in Texas, we did what state law requires of us: We plopped our kids down in the middle of a field of bluebonnets and took their pictures. At least we just didn't pull off the interstate and start shooting with traffic roaring by at 80 mph. Thanks to Kevin's sister Kara, we found a field on the outskirts of Hewitt that was bountiful in its crop of the official state flower of Texas.

Brazos thought enough of the blue buds that he wanted to have a little snack, much to the delight of Sophie.

Easter egg hunt

The young 'uns took part in an Easter egg hunt at their school -- First Baptist Church of Waco -- on Thursday. Sophie had a large time hunting and explaining the finer points of egg location determination to her brother, while Brazos was cool with just hanging out on the swing.
