Last day of vacation

We were trying to get a few pictures of the kids on the deck of our house, but Brazos wanted no part of that.

All of the rest of these pictures were taken at The Track, an amusement park-type attraction in Gulf Shores. This was our last night of vacation, and we made the most of it.

Thursday on Vacation

Brazos was all smiles during breakfast at Hazel's Nook in Gulf Shores.

Clara shot this picture of Kevin and Abby on the ferris wheel at the Wharf in Orange Beach. It's the tallest ferris wheel in the southeastern U.S.

This is the view from the front of our house in Fort Morgan.

This is the view from the back deck.

Vacation update

We had dinner last night at Lulu's, a huge restaurant that's owned by Lucy Buffett, Jimmy Buffett's sister. With a wait of about 90 minutes, the kids had plenty of time to play.

This is Lucie Hughes, the daughter of our friends Keith and Alicia. On Lucie's arm is her new sparkly tattoo. The tattoo lady was asking $15 for the work; we're pretty sure Keith negotiated that down.

This is Henry, Lucie's little brother.

We had a table right in front of the band, R.C. and the Moonpies. Sophie, Brazos and the rest of the kids in our party of 20 made good use of the dance floor.

At the Beach

We're on vacation in Fort Morgan, Ala., this week, hanging out with the Hughes family, friends of ours from Little Rock.

After driving all night, we had breakfast at Cafe Dumonde in New Orleans at 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

We took the ferry across Mobile Bay to Fort Morgan.

Abby's niece Clara is on the trip with us. A bird pooped on her.

This was our first day at the beach. Brazos wasn't too keen on getting in the ocean, but he was good with playing in the kiddie pool our friends brought with them. Later in the day, he ventured out into the waves.
